About West 9th
With roots in Mississippi, West 9th band was started by two passionate creatives, Conner Ball and Helen House. The dream for this band was born at a New York City restaurant on West 9th street. The duo have been friends for over 10 years and are excited to merge their talents and passion for music together to create a pop/rock band that brings original music and popular covers.
Conner is a medical student who plays guitar, sings, and writes songs. He has dipped his toes in the solo artist waters and was a contestant on American Idol in 2020. His style is that of a Singer/Songwriter, having developed a love for artists such as John Mayer and Ed Sheeran at the young age of 10, when he first picked up an acoustic guitar. Recent projects have led him to reach more for his electric guitar and explore other genres.
Helen is a professional dancer who started her own dance studio, House Studios of Jackson, MS, in August of 2020. She has also spent months at a time in Los Angeles, taking advanced hip-hop dance classes and collaborating with other artists on projects taking place there. On top of her incredible talent as a dancer, Helen is also a very talented singer. Helen and Conner have been friends most of their life, but until recently only performed together in group settings.
Now, the duo have written and recorded 7 songs, with a variety of styles and genres, and are starting their journey as a full band with release of debut album title track, "Sunny Side Up".
About Anse Rigby
Anse Rigby has learned a lot about balance over his years of writing and performing original music. That idea is at the core of his stellar studio debut, “All Along.” Over the course of the album, Rigby shares an easygoing yet immensely impactful collection of songs about love, relationships, faith, and the bumps and bruises that come with life’s journey.
A rich blend of southern and Americana sounds, the Forest, Mississippi native’s music has clearly connected with a wide range of listeners. “All Along” reached #1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart, which has opened the door for Rigby to share the stage with popular artists such as Paul Thorn, Jordy Searcy and Wild Ponies.
While flocks of new fans are still finding “All Along,” Rigby has finished up sophomore studio album "True Love Never Dies" that reunites with producer Casey Combest of Blue Sky Studios in Jackson. Word on the street is he is currently preparing songs currently for a new record.
